Tribfest rocks with Polo! The Beverley Polo Club is proud to be hosting this year’s Tribfest, East Yorkshire’s only Glastonbury style music festival. Tribfest weekend will be held at the Beverley Polo Club, on the 21st to 23rd August 2009 with over 20 tribute bands across the weekend. The Beverley Polo Club sits within 110 acres of mature parklands incorporating 3 full size polo pitches. The Club hosts a variety of events each year one being an international polo tournament, The Nations Cup. Teams from all over the world come to play an explosive competitive 3 day tournament, pulling in crowds of over 5,000 from all over the UK. Next year The Nations Cup and Tribfest will both be hosted at the Beverley Club. Tribfest was previously hosted at Driffield Showground, but due to unforeseen circumstances with the showground, Tribfest 2009 will now be hosted at The Beverley Polo Club situated less than 2 miles outside the historical market town of Beverley, East Yorkshire. The instant success of Tribfest has been nationally acknowledged with nominations for four UK Festival Awards, including: Best Small Festival, Best Line Up, Family Award and even Best Toilet Facilities! Tribfest is a warm, welcoming, event for people of all ages. Tribfest has become a popular event for thousands of people in East Yorkshire and all over the UK. The twist with the festival is that tribute bands entertain the fans for the weekend. Bands have paid tribute to The Beautiful South, AC/DC, Scissor Sisters, Arctic Monkeys, The Jam, Foo Fighters, Queen, The Killers, Madness, Arctic Monkey’s, Phil Collins and many, many more. Andrew Foreman, owner of Beverley Polo Club and his fiancé Britt O’Sullivan met with Tribfest organiser Eddy Faulkner a couple of weeks ago and listened to the urgency of finding a new home for Tribfest. “We were delighted to meet Eddy and hear the success of Tribfest so far. We hold many events at the Club every year and with our in-house team of event and marketing experts we have the experience to manage large scale events. We immediately loved Eddy’s passion and his drive to take Tribfest to another level. With Eddy and our team working in partnership we aim to make Tribfest 2009 exceptional,” said Andrew Foreman. “We had three potential sites but we have decided on the Beverley Polo Club. It’s a fantastic move and a real pleasure to be working with the positive thinking owners who are 100% behind keeping the event within the region.Everyone within the Polo Club has made me feel very welcome and there’s a great buzz around the place,” said Eddy. The Beverley Polo Club’s stunning facilities have hosted HRH Prince William and many celebrities including Jodie and Jack Kidd, Johnny Nelson as well as stars from many leading TV soap operas. The Club works regularly with a variety of TV channels, including BBC’s Inside Out and Ladette to Lady, ITV’s Life Roulette and the Channel Four series Faking It. Beverley Polo Club and the Nations Cup appear regularly on BBC Look North and also ITV calendar. The events at Beverley Polo Club have pulled in sponsorship from brands such as Coutts & Co, Mercedes, Nikki Clarke, Mac and Land Rover to name a few. Eddy said: “We can now take Tribfest up a gear. The Beverley Polo Club is a lot closer to Hull, has better facilities for the festival and for our audience. We can increase public capacity and for those weekend campers the club offers a beautiful setting. Ben Foreman, Polo Club Manager at Beverley Polo Club said “We are very happy to be hosting Tribfest and to be offering such a unique weekend of sport and music for the North of England”. ”It’s important we keep the festival in the East Yorkshire region as that is where its roots lie. We are really looking forward to working with the owners and staff of the Beverley Polo Club over the coming months, creating a bigger and better festival for 2009,” Plus we have the backing of the East Riding Council events team plus the many sponsors that have supported us throughout the last 2 years” said Eddy Faulkner.
