Yorkshire Nations Cup 2009 - a members point of view

The Yorkshire Nations Cup 2009 - a members point of view

With the Nations Cup, our annual polo tournament fast approaching the cogs of Beverley polo club are working overtime..!!

Music lights and action, usually the words from great stage directors like Andrew Lloyd Webber but at Beverley Polo Club it’s Andrew Foreman, owner of the Beverley Polo Club who’s doing the directing, with his open business mind and passion for polo how could such an event not be enjoyed.

We all have budding business ideas from time to time but it’s all about getting them fired up and running, if you don’t even get in the car how do you know is not going to work? Beverley Polo Club from my view gets in the car, starts the engine, wins the race and even throws in a lap of honor for good luck. From what I can see as a new member it has a solid foundation and a structure that can be built on to great heights.

The Nations Cup at Beverley Polo Club is sure to push the boundaries of any polo events in Yorkshire and can only enhance this fantastic sport we all love and enjoy so much.

So imagine Rio De Janeiro Carnival, strings of finely tuned polo ponies, teams of highly charged polo players with one thing in mind, WINNING!You have the recipe for what can only be described as polo fusion with a side dressing of sophistication.

Add a dash of Neil Morrissey a pinch of celebrity chef Richard Fox, a few drams of the duos home brew to the pot and you have almost got it!!  Last but not least infuse the above with the main ingredient …The flying horseman himself A.K.A Mr Andrew Forman!! Seasoned with Beverley polo staff and its die hard members, add a kick of South America and you have an evening not to be missed.

Without the passion at Beverley Polo Club, this wonderful event would not be taking place, none of us would be playing this life changing sport, the weekends would be back in the hands of the other half  and our souls would once again be in limbo.

Three cheers for BPC and all its wonderful staff and members.
